Behind the Lessons: The Gaming Lessons Blog
Now Looking for Video Capturers
With the launch of our videos section ever nearer, it’s time to search for some video capturers. Specifically, we’re looking for individuals who can capture in high-definition, render the videos out with supplied title cards, and upload them to our video corral. Naturally, we pay for the services. If this seems like something that interests you, please contact us at hello [at] gaming-lessons.com at your earliest convenience, or simply head over to the contact form and get in touch.
The Winter Improvement Plan
We’re coming close to the one-year anniversary of Gaming Lessons 2.0, and to be frank, we couldn’t be happier. By any measure, the year has been a roaring success.
That said, like any good project, it could be better. And that’s what The Winter Improvement Project is focused on. So take a few moments to discover what’s coming next.
Say Hello to Gnosis
In his first blog post, Gnosis—our newest writer—provides us a wonderful glimpse into his background, how he came unto the MLG world, and the unique perspective he’ll add to the site in coming articles. Say hello to Gnosis.
Sometimes, Things Suck
This weekend was going to be huge. And we were incredibly excited about it, and the doors that it opened for the future. However, tonight, tragedy struck. And, as such, we’re going to have to cancel part of our coverage: namely, the live feed. Continue reading to understand exactly what happened, why we’re stuck canceling coverage, and most importantly, what we’re doing to make things right by those who have purchased event feed access tickets.
Lesson Sales are Returning
We just wanted to let you know that lesson sales will be returning this week; at latest, Tuesday or Wednesday depending on a few things from our end. We’ve gone over every facet of the process, and are happy to let you know that we’re continuing our strives towards perfection.
Evolution is a Process
What a week. Exactly 7 days ago, almost to the minute, lessons went back on sale. And it’s been nonstop ever since, with a great deal of work going on behind the scenes. Fun times. Fun times.
Unfortunately, even though it’s been an incredible week, there are things we’re not satisfied. Namely, with how the lesson process turned out once it was applied to a live environment (the gist being things didn’t work out as we planned, nor expected). Thus, the focus this weekend turned to tweaking things.
Evolution is a process. You don’t just launch a product, a service, or even a website, and call it a day.
Vision Becomes Reality
The summer has, thus far, been incredibly interesting for those of us at Gaming Lessons. And, amusingly enough, we’ve seen more activity and changes over the past five days than we have the entire summer, save when Rise was launched the weekend of MLG Columbus. Some of the reasons for the apparent lack of activity were elaborated on in my previous post, so I’ll refrain from bringing them back up. Instead, I’ll consider it my distinct pleasure to introduce you to what Rise was envisioned to be all along.
Actually, strike that.
I’ll consider it my distinct pleasure to introduce you to what Gaming Lessons was envisioned to be all along.
An Apology is in Order
It’s funny how time flies.
It feels like only yesterday I was picking up a buddy of mine that Thursday afternoon to head out to Secaucus, New Jersey for MLG Meadowlands without any plans for hotel rooms. We launched the initial website that weekend, working off of T2’s laptop in between walks to the venue.
Then came Columbus. About a week prior, we took all lesson sales down. Then Thursday came. Again. I packed a Mac Pro, with a 23” screen, into the back of an SUV. Then, I started the three hour trip to the heart of Ohio. The plan was simple: launch the bloody website. Unfortunately, it seems that I can’t go very far without validating John Lennon: “life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” And so, an apology is in order.
Entrepeneur Magazine
